I have a customer that took his old a.s. baseboard out and took it apart to have it powder coated. He now has it split up into 2-3 panels for new rooms after remodel. We divide a large room into 3 smaller rooms. Question is now we have sections that on the ends that where meant to be pressed ( with rings) into like panels. (center panels) and not enough right hand and left hand panels that are taped for npt! We have told him about this problem before he did this. Now he wants us to come up with someway to make it work. He found some of the push rings someplace. My only thought was to silver solder 1/2" b.i.p. nipples int the rings. with a threaded cap on the other end, and carefully drive them in as square as possible int the panels. Next obstacle is ( never working with it before) do the push rings have any kind of sealant that needs to be put on before i push them in?? Has any one ever had to do this?
