In-Airid Vent

Picked up an old radiator and noticed this strange looking plug in the top: In-Airid Air Vent, by American Radiator. If I use this radiator, it will be on a condensate zone in the basement.
Anyone know anything about these vents, would it need to be removed if used on HW (non-pressurized - condensate zone from steam boiler located on the same floor)?
1/8 tapping is also there for hot water air bleed valve.

I would take it out and install a small pet cock or ball valve. You will need it to bleed the radiators and then shut it off0

@DanHolohan just posted an article about these vents. They were for single pipe steam systems. As @EBEBRATT-Ed said, you’ll have to remove the bushing completely if you intent to use it for a hot water system. You would then just install the bleeder there. You could also send me the In-Airid bushing .1
