Can't find anything quickly- can you post some pics of the boiler, including a close-up of the nameplate that shows the model, etc?All Steamed Up, Inc.

@STEVEusaPA has a good point. You don't know where the boiler came from or what shape it's in.STEVEusaPA said:Id guess 85K. But I would never buy a used boiler.

I wouldnt touch a new slantfin with a tenfoot pole after reading so many bad customer reviews on less
than 10 year old boilers .i also read the same type of reviews on other national brands.seems new boilers are like new maytag wash machines!they aint built American tuff and dependable anymore!0 -
Sounds like you've already made up your mind. That's 69,000 BTU output, 85k input and it's a 30 year old piece of crap. I saw that exact unit on Craigslist this morning and have thrown several more in the trash from that same area of Eastern MN over the last few years. There is a reason he says it was never used- probably because it wouldn't fire since new. That thing isn't worth scrap value, much less what he's asking for it0

I would imagine you disposed of 30 to 40 year old boilers that reached the end of their life, which 30 to 40 years is great .No I did not make up my mind to buy that unit.If it was purchased new ,was higher btu and sat there unused, sure I would entertain the thought if the price is right.most likely will purchase a new unit but am researching which brands have the best track record.Of course I will not pay full retail on a new unit as there is absolutely no warranty when a unit is installed by the homeowner. From reading up on warranty nightmares, perhaps am no worse off. Thanks for the btu information.0

3 of the 5 or 6 were abandoned 15-25 years ago because they were garbage, and one of the others I was told had been an annual problem since they moved in a decade earlier. Not a good shelf life, I would imagine the original owner changed it out for a reason and sold it for a song to the fella trying to sell it now 25 years later. Good luck finding a brand new boiler for used cost, and having it last forever after being installed by a homeowner.
We've had very good luck with Slant Fin Sentry units in terms of ease and longevity, but hopefully you can find something else since they are garbage in your world0 -
Did not say new for used price.why would i go to an installer and buy with no warranty when can go online and buy cheaper.as far as a "home owner" in your mind is unskilled?i tear apart , fix and maintain bigger boilers for a living than these small home boilers.i can surely install a new one.i prefer old systems that dont have all the electronic main control boards and other accessories that have mini boards in them!0
