Pros cons to spiro/exp location

Upgrading a system with new components all 5 zones with taco sentry valves. Zone loop has 007 and boiler loop has 007. Biasi low mass fired at 125k. Reason for p/s is due to a pellet boiler being installed in parallel next to boiler with 3way valves. Does anyone see an issue, this location suits the extisting layout best for me.

Does the design requirements call for 007's?

Have 10 ft of hp on secondary loop so a 006 can’t cut it per the curve. Don’t want a smaller circbon boiler loop want to at least keep them the same. Plus the 007 will cover the extra hp when using the second boiler. Adds another 30ft of 1” tubing and some fittings

maybe include a drawing of what you propose. Air purgers do their best work at the hottest point in the system, right at the boiler supply if possible.

The expansion tank need not be installed at the purger, it needs to be located so all the circulators are pumping away from the tank connection.

It's fine to have a circulator at the boiler return, as long as the tank connection is correct.

Where are the two boilers connecting?

A hydraulic separator can clean up some piping detail and provide 4 important functions.

You mentioned 3 way valves? for boiler return protection?

If so here is a good example of parallel boilers, 3 way protection, air, dirt, magnetic and hydraulic separation provided by one product.

It places all the components in the best location for multiple functions. Air removal at the hottest point, expansion tank ideally located, hydraulic separation for boilers and distribution, and a magnetic function should you choose ECM circulators now or in the future.
