What brand domestic water heater mixing valve are you using?
Caleffi
Honeywell
Cash Acme
Watts
Taco
Other brand

Why are you using this brand?
Is the mixing factory preset?
Or do you need to wait for the water to get hot to set the mixing valve?

Are you using the mixing valve kits made to go directly onto tank type residential water heater?
What Brand?
Caleffi
Honeywell
Cash Acme
Why are you using one brand over the other?

Honeywell AMX is the bomb for tank style WH. Easy direct connect, they come with a thermometer strip that sticks on the pipe above the valve to dial it in. Adjustable from 90 to 130, you can dial it in pretty close by marking where the 90 and 130 points are and splitting the difference to end up where you want. I typically set them around 115 and explain to the homeowner how to adjust if they want, which is simple. The valves come with an Allen wrench for adjustment, and the adjustment is recessed to keep the kids from screwing around with it.
