New Boiler Install

Hi all, Just wanted to thank you all for this web site and all the help it provides. The boiler I had was all ready installed when I bought my house 18 years ago. I guess it lasted that long because of all the reading of the post here, or maby just good luck. Anyway here a picture
Pretty bad, no header equalizer copper piping ect. This winter I had to add water every day, I knew it was the end.
I came here and did a search for a contractor in my area and found New England Steam Works. Ryan was the best! He was the only one to measure all the radiators for the correct size boiler and go over everything with me.
So to make a long story short Here's what I got

It's a baby MST288 and @bill714 has two kids in college. 2" will be just fine...Danny Scully said:How did you talk @New England SteamWorks out of doing that in 3”?
I had a kidney stone during the install, barely made it without collapse...
But @bill714 and Jean were most gracious hosts!
P.S. I've had a sneak peek at his insulation work: Very nice. You'll enjoy his pics when he posts!

Anything is fine if you do it @New England SteamWorks I’ve had two Kinsey stones now, they’re the worst! Can’t imagine doing anythIng with a kidney stone let alone a steam boiler. I actually left a steamer install once the pain was too intense.0

My kidney stone experience was crippling. I wish you hadn't even brought it up.Contact John "JohnNY" Cataneo, NYC Master Plumber, Lic 1784

@bill714
nice job on the insulation.
they don't make valve covers as far as I know they use tee fittings for that.
Most insulators use elbow covers and that's about it. They miter and cope everything else. Me, I don't miter and cope as good as they do so fitting covers work for me0
