Does anyone out there have a Crane 70 series manual? The specific model is 70-194. PDF is ok, of course. If you've got one you could scan and it's a pain, I'd happily shoot you a couple bucks for your troubles.
Thanks!
Eli

its an old school tank, and in its day a good boiler but now its a piece of junk, what else you want to know?"The bitter taste of a poor install lasts far longer than the JOY of the lowest price"0

Ah, thanks all! It's not really much of anything. It's in a house that I am buying. I like having any technical literature for anything that I own. Mainly just to look at, see what nozzle, spray angle, etc. it was originally spec'd with, look at parts diagrams and see what is available.
In a previous life I did a fair amount of oil burner work, I was considering nursing it along for a season or two longer. I do see that the combustion chamber is still available from LYNN, and it has a regular ol Beckett AFG which I am very familiar with.
BUT...as I thought about it a little bit and checked out the nameplate, I see that even with just a cocktail napkin calculation of the load that this fella is oversized by a lot, so very likely I will take advantage of summer and the easy ground level access to replace it.
Thanks for chiming in!

LOL...when is summer? Can't seem to find spring.
Probably the only way to know what nozzle you need in there would be to do a nozzle substitution test with a smoke gun and analyzer.
Start with one size below the firing rate on the plate. Make sure firing rate is within range of your end cone (which may require pulling the burner)
Or, just do a proper heat loss, and install the new properly sized (if available or smallest one you can find) boiler.
Here's a nice one:

@STEVEusaPA
Didn't you get the memo? Spring & Summer are both cancelled for 2018.
It snowed here today, about an inch. It is April 6 for crying out loud.
Froze my butt off rigging a chiller outside.
So sick of winter0
