Radiator valve repair questions

2 pipe system. I've got about 40-50 radiators to go through.

1. On one brand of radiator valve, there is a 1/2" long spring in the stem cavity/under the packing nut. Does the packing go under the spring (at the bottom of the cavity) or on top of the spring (under the top of the packing nut)?

2. What's better, ptfe or graphite?

3. It seems like a rubber washer would be better/easier/last longer? Can you use a washer instead of packing?

4. Can you buy just the guts of the valve (stem, etc. keep the housing that connects to the radiator and pipe) so you don't have to hassle with replacing the whole thing?

5. This guy doesn't have a packing nut, and the washer on the bottom is gone. It would be nice to just buy this part and put it back in the housing??
