    Thats why I had to drain the water. Today I took off the coupling and soldered a pipe in place

    Here are the pictures of the new pipe soldered in and the new 3/4 ball check valve.
    I also discovered that if you open the water to fill the boiler it will flush the boiler thru the valve I put on the bottom of the baseboard return.
