Acoustic Dampening

I am working to solve a noisy steam radiator that keeps me up at night. Eliminating the noise would be ideal, but I am in a multi-unit building and don't have control over all radiators or the ability to independently make changes to the boiler.
So, while I try to silence the radiators, I am considering dampening the noise. We generally leave the vent completely closed so I could even cover the whole radiator with a sound insulated box.
Are there any solutions for acoustic dampening for steam radiators?
Are there good/bad materials to use for this?
Would clamping the pipe help dampen noise?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
