Ray-Tec Garage Heater

We have an old Ray-Tec heater in the garage. We lit the pilot and it worked fine, then we turned it to on and lit each of the two burners with a lighter, They lit with a small amount of flame on each. We're not sure what we have to do to get the furnace to light. There is a thermostat that's not connected but has a clip on each of the white and black wire. I'm not sure where they would be connected. Thanks in advance.
