Sweatchecks ghosting....

I have a customer who I inherited this system from.
Gas fired boiler. 4 hot water baseboard zones and one radiant zone.
Each zone has a Taco sweat check on it.
The system had a zone of Heatway Onix that fouled the water quite badly.
I flushed out all the piping. Added Fernox cleaner to the system. Flushed all the residue out and then added Fernox inhibitor.
The customer has been having either no heat issues or ghost flow issues now.... if I tighten the weights down they don't open enough to let the zone circulate or if I loosen it a bit they get ghosting issues and over shooting temps.
I tried pulling apart the valve and cleaning but that's not helpful.

Any thoughts on a remedy?

Replace, and/or put checks on the return(s)?

On my original CI boiler system, I had problems with the Taco flo-checks too.. both times were ghosting issues- PITA!

When I installed the mod-con (summer 2016) I used Caleffi spring loaded Flow Check valves. They've been perfect so far, zero ghosting, zero chatter!

what @Danny Scully & @NY_Rob said are good solutions. I am assuming your zoning with pumps. I suppose zone valves could be a fix but probably too many $$.

Some jobs seem to have no flocheck issues, they can be troublesome
