Cold radiator and feed

I have one radiator that will not heat. The insulated feed pipe in basement is cold. The radiator in line before this one works well and trap is working the right way.. Any ideas why feed line is cold into this radiator? Feed pipe and return line to this radiator both have a union in basement. Should I open it up?

Not doubting you but what makes you sure the trap on the radiator next to it is working the right way?Contact John "JohnNY" Cataneo, NYC Master Plumber, Lic 1784

Radiator gets hot, but pipe below trap (return)doesn't.0

Good possibility the trap on that rad has failed closed or is clogged.0

John NY, is my assessment correct? As I understand it the trap will close when steam hits element and reopen for condensate return when it cools(?)0

So I removed trap and noticed when system is on, I hear water gurgling in condensate pipe and air venting upward. Any idea what may cause this? This is last radiator on this run on 2nd floor.0
