New oil seems to be making a big difference in boiler cleanliness

I am in Mass and noticed this year a very big difference in how clean my boiler was. I didn't realize there are new regs on the oil supply here but I can definitely say that my boiler appeared to hardly look dirty after a year. It has always run fairly clean but the difference was very noticeable.
I understand that in 2018 it gets the oil even cleaner. Just wondering what others have seen as well.

If a reduction from 3,000ppm to 500ppm sulfur (albeit three years ago) made that much difference, it will be very interesting to hear what happens at 15ppm. This page
lays out impending changes. Imagine the benefit D.C. will reap going from 10,000ppm to 15ppm. Please keep us posted everyone.0 -
I've been delivering ultra low sulfur (15ppm) along with various bio blends for over 5 years now.
The heat exchangers are a lot cleaner. The first couple of years, I noticed the fuel filters & pump strainers much dirtier.
Overall, much better with the ultra low sulfur. There was an error rendering this rich post.
