This was in a house in Berkeley I visited today. Finned tube suspended under the joists to heat the floor above, circa 1958.

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

Might be Kreitzer (or Krietzer). I remember that name somewhere, maybe in an old ASHVE Guide. Have to look it up.
