Cast iron baseboard baseray radiator question

Options
One of the end pieces of our Utica Radiator Corp brand cast iron radiator cracked so we are about to replace the whole section with Burnham baseray, which looks exactly the same. But we have extra end piece we can use from a section we took out. Would you get all new or try to conmect two old pieces from 1957? Are there any experts in my area who have done this work before? Does anyone have the assembly tool that we could borrow, rent or buy cheaply, or ideas on how to locate one? I'm located near Albany, NY.

The Burnham assembly tool is usually available from local plumbing supply houses on a rental basis- you can purchase new push nipples there too.

If you remove the push nipple from both sections and the seats look good, install new nipples an try connecting the old sections... you have nothing to lose. If it leaks... buy new (or newer).
