Burnham Alliance indirect; threaded or welded aquastat well?

Aquastat well neck extends just out of plastic jacket and appears to failing, observed after control removal. Threaded? Or welded like new SSU?

    I'm not sure about the Alliance, but I believe it's a threaded well.
    The SSU is not welded, it's a stainless steel threaded well.
