Radical Radiator Restoration

A customer of mine severely needed a radiator replaced for one of his tenants.
I found radical radiator restorations in Malden Massachusetts.
Not only did they have the exact recessed wall radiator I was looking for, they had these other gems.
Most I've only seen in books, one I thought I would never see outside of a museum and another that I never even knew existed.

Radiator with boot warmer

How about a plate warmer in your butler's pantry, so your filet mignon stays hot from the kitchen to the dining area.

Curves radiators and....... whatever you call that one to the left of it.

That's not a radiator

Oh that is a radiator

I almost fell over when I noticed the mattress standing in the room.
I should have taken a close up of the hand valve. "Patented 1854" was on it.

American Radiator #5 vapor vent.
Still shinny

That the radiator I bought

That the reason I went there today.

Very cool, but what is so unique about the radiator you replaced?

Seriously? It's still producted by a number of companies. I thought maybe it was an odd number of sections or a certain depth. Http://www.ocsind.com. In any event, great find!

@AMservices. They say it's not the destination, it's the journey.
    You did it backwards.

    Wow! Thanks for sharing, @AMservices.

Here's what the hand valve on the Gold Mattress radiator looks like up close. (From The Lost Art of Steam Heating)

    Thank you @Erin Holohan Haskell
I felt weird taken pictures in there. The owner was surprised that I was even talking as much as I was about radiators. He said usually the people that come in are homeowners that don't have a clue as to what they need or what they're looking for and most of the contractors are in there complaining that their boss is making them install a cast iron radiator.
    It's a shame.

Joel is a great guy amazing what he has in for inventory. That's why his phone number and email address are saved in my phone.

It's a shame when you read post after post here where homeowners are told by their remodel contractor that the first step is to rip out their cast iron radiators and replace with fin-tube or forced hot air.

We should ask them if they want some cheese with their whine........
