Past Dead Man Events

Soon after Dan built the Wall everyone wanted him to organize in-person get-togethers. I had the pleasure of attending one of these fabulous events! This is driving me crazy but I can't remember what Dan called these events. Please help an old not yet dead man remember...

By the way, if I'm not mistaken, since 1998, this is the first time my true identity has been exposed here. Egads!0

First it was "A Gathering of Wetheads", later it became "Wetstock". I don't remember exactly when it changed. All Steamed Up, Inc.

Those were good times. I was looking at the list of the first one. So many have died. Great memories. Thanks, Dave.Retired and loving it.0

@Sal Santamaura my username was Wizaard. Thanks to Dan's generosity I was given a public platform in our professions, to begin writing. And early on, when the Wall was under attack, we took the opportunity to launch AREA51HVAC.COM in order to give folks a place to gather until Dan righted the egregious evildoer's wrongs.
For anyone interested, here's a relatively short, four-part story talking about our origins and end. I also explain Groom Lake, which HotRod mentions above.
As Dan says, those were great memories! I am very sad to say Klaatu (Steve) passed away a few years ago. Tom51 keeps AREA51HVAC.COM alive today on Facebook. It's a closed group but most professionals reading this are welcome, so I encourage you to check it out. It's a pretty technical forum.0 -

I remember introducing Hot Rod to Ken Secor. That was a time stopping event. They actually got along great. Those were the days. Thanks for the memories.

I remember Wetstock 2004, in Baltimore, where I introduced The Lovely Naoko, my bride of two weeks, to a completely unsuspecting group. Then she went with us to the Burnham plant in Lancaster the next day- a labor of love if there ever was one.
I think I still have some Wetstock pics- anyone else? I'm sure the ones we've posted along the way have mostly disappeared through the various versions of The Wall- let's see if we can find some vintage Wetstock pics and post them! All Steamed Up, Inc.
