Spacepak Plenum lifespan
dripdrip
Member Posts: 1
I have a spacepak a/h in a hot attic and I think condensation is forming on the plenum and dripping through the ceilings below. I see the moist spots in the attic right below the plenum. Is it likely that the insulation of the plenum has broken down over 20 years allowing this to happen? Am I off base in my diagnosis?

Have you gone up to have a look at what exactly is going on?
I've taken a few trips up in my attic recently when it was 125+ up there to make sure things were copacetic. Can't stay long, but long enough to have a look.
Single pipe quasi-vapor system. Typical operating pressure 0.14 - 0.43 oz. EcoSteam ES-20 Advanced Control for Residential Steam boilers. Rectorseal Steamaster water treatment0 -
Can you see where the condensate water should drain to?
Often a partially blocked drain line will allow the drain pan under the coil to overflow.
Next the drain pan could have holes from rusting thru and some water dripping out.0
