My ahri searching skills are on the fritz, does anyone make a 95% tank type water heater nat gas? AHRI doesn't seem to think so.

State makes one too, not sure of the model or if it's AHRI certified.
Found HTP's Phoenix lineup too: http://www.htproducts.com/phoenixwaterheater.html
and American's Polaris line: http://www.americanwaterheater.com/residential/gas/pg10-50-199-3nv/
the only one whose literature indicates AHRI is the AO Smith though I didn't check the AHRI database but some might be Energy Star certified if rebates are an issue.0 -

Gary , Here's what to look for specifically with the HTP units , as well as the others . Most of the condensing storage heaters will appear as commercial units , everything above 75K input will appear as commercial . i have yet to see a program however that did not recognize it's use in a residential application . Someone mentioned the Crossover , this will be listed in both the commercial and residential sections , considering the model number , RGH 20-75 would be found in the residential listings and RGH 76 would be found in commercial listings , all Phoenix will be found in commercial listings and I believe the Phoenix Light Duty can be found in both . Mind you and I will stand corrected if wrong , only the HTP units are modulating also .

Are you looking for 95% recovery/thermal efficieincy or .95 EF -There is a big difference
(No .95 EF tanks I'm aware of)0 -
I installe a HTP PH76-50 in my hoouse last August. My gas bill in Septemebr and October was 47% less. I also do not run out of hot water even when showering with the rain forest head that has been drilled out, washing machine running and dishwasher running.
