I was asked to look at installing a Garn wood boiler. I personally have never heard of the company. I have installed a few Tarm/Bioheat biomass boiler in the past. Any input on Garn experiences would be appreciated.

Do it. It's an amazing boiler. Realize that it is an open system. Boiler not at pressure, it is open to atmosphere. Water quality maintenance in the boiler is critical. Tech support from the MN company is good. You need a LOT of space for this boiler. It is a huge beast to handle and put in place. Doorways need to be big enough. It needs to be insulated or in its own insulated room. It vents horizontally out sidewall. Uses "batch burn" fuel loading sequence. One loading per day, usually. Maybe two on very cold days. There is a fair amount of owner/operator interface. But Garn is time-tested/proven. Need to have DRY, split firewood--only. They should NOT be run like an OUTDOOR wood boiler.2
