MegaSteam 288 Install

I just wanted to post a couple pictures and a link to the rest of the pictures I have of the the MegaSteam 288 install we just had done a few weeks ago.
We bought the boiler with the tankless coil and the near piping kit. We used most of the parts from the piping kit, I think it was well worth it and so did the installer. The drop header worked out great and I did the insulation.

I already took the CycleGard off and replaced it with the SafeGard 450 and skimmed the boiler.

Thanks,
Shaun

Thanks to everyone who posts on this site I've used it as a great tool while learning about steam heat and would be lost without it.

    Looks good!

I see an ancient main vent in the upper left of the top pic. Next step is to upgrade that vent and any others on the system. How long are each of your steam mains and what pipe size are they?

I'm not sure of the pipe length or size of the main but I have 4 Gorton #1 Main Vents.

It is Owens Corning insulation from buyinsulationproducts.com.

One issue...on your hartford loop, the megasteam manual, page 24 show's they want a close or shoulder nipple only (dropping from the Y). It appears you have a 4" nipple.

That insulation looks like you made your header out of PVC pipe! Sure wouldn't have been easier than black iron :D
