Problems w New MEPCO VST's
Billurbs

We recently replaced about 1,000 VST steam traps in a high rise building. (over the summer) Now, come heating season, we're finding that about 20% of the new traps elements are failed open. This is pressurizing our returns lines and preventing steam circulation, particularly at the upper floors. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
Despite MEPCO's claim that 100 % are tested, we're finding high failure rates.

Did you replace the entire trap or just the element?
We use the same body at the Mepco VST but machine them out for our cage unit. I haven't heard anything about that specific trap having problems.
I'd be happy to test some if you like see if we can pinpoint the issue.Peter Owens
