Found this in the 1902 house must've heated a water bottle up in the kitchen or in the bathroom ,coal-fired about 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall

They use to use those to heat a hot water storage tank by gravity circulation. They fired it with coal and couldn't shut the fire off like an oil or gas burner so the hot water storage tank was also a buffer tank for the DHW system0

Where is the flue going? Looks like into a round tank.Serving Northern Maine HVAC & Controls. I burn wood, it smells good!0

The tank behind it is just a water heater butted against it. The owners could afford the asbestos removal at the time so they just had it covered. The part that looks like it's going into the tank is just the flue covered with wrap. The piping is going into a chase up to the first floor. Believe there with a copper storage tank in the kitchen.0
