Has anyone used a Comfort 45 or 55 indirect water heater as a combination water heater and buffer?
The extra large boiler water capacity seems like it was intended for buffer applications. There's a technical pdf drawing documenting this application linked here:

They dont show that piped as a buffer tank. Looks piped in typical configuration0

It's pretty clear to me that the "mirco" zones are intended to be buffered by the indirect water heater in that drawing.0

Interesting TT has moved the boiler pump from pumping into the boiler to pumping away.0

Why is that intriguing?0
-
Well. Because TT 's original installation manual for the challenger showed the boiler pump pumping into the hx now it shows it pumping away. I'm sure you' were aware of this? Correct?0

I was not.0
