Old Coal boiler

I love this old Gurney coal-fired boiler in an old Victorian house in Leesburg, VA

It has long been disconnected. I installed a Burnham V-7 oil fired boiler over 20 years ago. We since converted it to gas and installed a TT Prestige about five years ago.

I was here recently on a service call and snapped a few pics.

This is the Prestige and DHW tank. We piped this direct to the old 4" steel gravity mains. It is in condensing mode on all but the oldest days.

What a stunning house @Dan Foley I love that era of design.(Probably because all of them have radiators. Unless someone "upgraded" to forced air) Heck of an expansion tank, how many rads are in the house?
You can have it good, fast or cheap. Pick two

@ Canucker. The house was built in 1899

I don't recall the exact number of radiators but my guess is 20 to 25 rads. It was originally a gravity system.

I'm sure you or Steamhead could edify us on history of The Gurney Company. Was the foundry actually in D.C. ? Mad Dog

@ Mad Dog. I believe Gurney was a Canadian Co.
