Weil Mclean Ultra 230 does not reach setpoint

We have a WM Ultra 230 installed about 10 years ago in new construction.
Recently was plugged with ash so it stopped working. After clean out and drain clearing, new sparker and gaskets, it resumed functioning. That was one week ago.
Today (why is it always on the weekend!) it stopped heating again so I was thinking it plugged up the drain with more ash that I didn't clean out. Upon checking the display, it shows the water temp at 72, with the 6 message indicating it has reached the water setpoint. Well no, the setpoint is 140. But it keeps cycling on and off saying it reached the set point.
Do I need to replace a sensor or even the entire logic board?
Any help appreciated.
