I'm looking for someone to check the system out and do some routine maintenance. Previous owner lived here for 50 plus years and the house was vacant for about 3 years before we bought it. We had the boiler cleaned last year and all they did was clean the burner. This is the same company that the previous owner used. So I have no idea how long it's been since it was properly cleaned.

Its an old boiler and we'd like it to last forever but know it's days are limited. Would also like a quote so we can start budgeting for it now. And be ready to rock when it fails.

With the help of this forum I have improved my main venting as well as replaced other vents and I'm in the process of insulating the pipes.

That's 2 1/2 Hrs north of here. Sounds like you have a handle on what to look for. Insulate your mains and get your mains vented is a good start. @lchmb works north of here and may be able to help.

I live in Colebrook, NH and have heard that a guy named Norm Broome is an expert in steam. I also am looking for an expert to check out my system which is about 100 years old so will call and see what he has to offer for service. In the meantime, I appreciate all the help I have gotten from this website.
