I live on long Island and I have a 73 year old, American Standard, oil fired boiler. The old gal sprung a leak at the very bottom of the dry return. Access had to be obtained, through the steel jacket, to reach, cut out, and replace the offending nipple. This post is a special thanks to Matt Sweeny (aka Mad Dog), for doing such a beautiful, and professional job with this repair.
Its old, Its inefficient, but it works great, and thanks to Matt, it's not leaking.
73 year old one pipe system with original American standard boiler, oil fired becket, 2 inch steel pipe main, 100 feet long, with 8 radiators above.
