Advice needed on used indirect water tank - any risk is buying used?

I am in the process of purchasing a new boiler and water tank. I found a slightly used Crown mega-store for sale locally. I am told it was used for 2 years before the boiler he bought failed. The contractor I am planning to work with quoted 2600 for the water tank, parts and instalation. His brand new tank is a wiel McClain the same size. He said he would deduct 900 to install the used one. I would save $600 dollars. Is it worth it?

A few things....
- Used tank has NO warranty. Only to the original purchaser.
- Depending on the water quality you could get some nasties in the tank.
- if the tank was outside the coil if left full of water may be damaged.
- if you have issues you will have to pay out more....0 -
Would not recommend it.0
