I have 2 neighbors in Glen Head (11545 in Nassau) who do not have hot water, and now heat, due to lack of oil (really, lack of money). We have arranged an oil delivery early week of 10/3 through a charity group, and the street has been supplying them with food. The boiler has not run for a few months. Anyone out there available to stop by and look it and the water heater over to make sure they'll start up once the oil is delivered? Thank you very much. - Rich C

Hi. Thanks for commenting. Are you saying I should contact them aboutt this? I had heard that new installations were their mission, and was pointed here instead of there. Rich

Whoever shows up would probably want the oil there before arriving for servicing.

OK. Thanks. I'll get the oil there and also try oilheatcares.

Replacing equipment for those in need is the primary mission of OHC. Responding to service calls is really beyond the scope of what is practical. That being said, I'm on the BOD of OHC and would be happy to stop by, take a look and start up the units if they are in safe operating condition and if you get some oil delivered. If they require ongoing assistance with fuel bills, this is the place to start - https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/1920/Home-Energy-Assistance-Program-HEAP
