Removing Field Controls Vent Damper

Hi! I'm new to forum and hope someone can help.

My Field Controls vent damper failed, and even with the damper locked "open" and the override switch thrown, any slight movement on the thin shaft going through the damper causes the controller (Aquastat L8148E) to prevent the gas boiler from firing.

So I've removed the damper altogether from the flue and now I believe I need to disconnect the damper wiring from the Aquastat and replace the jumper that would have been removed when the damper was installed.

Is this correct? And if so, can anyone provide a photo of an L8148E with this jumper in place so I can see what the jumper would look like and I can be sure that I'm putting it on correctly?

Thanks!

Curtis

The motor assembly on those dampers is replaceable. This includes the switches you were having trouble with. I think the part number is GVD-RMA or something similar.
