and some more photos. Hopefully I have captured all the interesting piping. I will be adding some more insulation to the pipes.

@New England SteamWorks - actually there are 4 main vents on my returns. The insulation show is required by Efficiency Maine to qualify for their $500 rebate. I will adding more insulation. There is another drain on the other side of the boiler that is shown in the additional pictures I posted. Thanks for your comments.

Will the clean out door hit the sight glass? Hinges should be on the left side, if that can be done on the Burnham.
I would recommend installing an inline ball valve on the copper oil line, then a 36" braided oil line to the FMV at the fuel pump. Then you don't have to disconnect to open the door.

@ScottInMaine, the 3rd picture shows what I suspected. You cannot have steam mains/dry returns connect above the waterline. Depending upon the speed at which each main/dry return gets hot, steam from one main/dry return could cross over into the other main and satisfy (close) its vent, causing that main/dry return to stop heating prematurely. It's an easy enough fix which your installer seems capable of. Textbook otherwise.

@Danny Scully, I think I understand what you mean. Here's another picture that clearly shows that the 2 return lines in the upper right connect near the top of the boiler. That connection should be made lower down below the lowest possible water level, which is at about the bottom 2 bolts on the round cover shown.

The other 2 return lines connect near the bottom of the other side of the boiler so they are OK.

Do I have that right? If so I will call my installer and talk to him about getting it fixed. Thanks so much for taking the time to review my pictures and comment.

@HVACNUT the door is hinged on the left and it looks like it will just clear the sight glass. I see what you mean about the oil line having to be disconnected prior to swinging the door open.

Is Burnham still not certifying the MegaSteam for a gas burner?
