The header on one end is spun closed on both sides. He claims he can look through the bottom header, no plug in the middle. The open header has been reduced to 3/4 for connection between panels.

Looks like a US Solar Corporation collector, which was the precursor to AET. They had the same mounting hardware in the picture as well.
As to the flow pattern, anyone's guess is as good as mine.0
