Takeoffs to mains

Hello all, Im installing an weil eg 50 and just had a question about connecting my 2 (parallel flow) mains to the drop header. I wanted to know if i do my 2 takeoffs 18 inches up off the drop header then run horizontally for approx 2 foot before i come up and connect to my 2 mains, instead of using elbows up to the mains i would use tees and drip the to horizontal sections down to the wet returns. Just wondering if this will work. Thanks in advance.

As long as you pitch them properly so water doesn't collect in them, you shouldn't need the drips. Since these are parallel-flow mains, you won't have condensate coming back this way from the radiators. All Steamed Up, Inc.

Thank you Steamhead
Just to make sure i understand you, as long as i pitch the horizontal runs back to the vertical takeoffs coming off header I should be fine. The only condensate in those pipes will be any steam that condenses on its way to the mains, which will then run back to the header to the equalizer.
Thanks again Ben0 -
Would this be a place for swing 90's on the 2 ' horizontal before it goes vertical up to horizontal mains?0

That's correct, Ben. If you have trouble getting the right pitch, JUGHNE's swing joints will solve the problem. All Steamed Up, Inc.
