Since old WHs don't like to drain, what kind of pump do you boys use to help them along? Thanks

just that standard cheapo plug in that has hose connections on each side. Probably bought it from HD years ok

Valve off the cold line, air compressor coupled to the hot line.

air compressor was my favorite method. pump to 100 psi and watch them drain!
Agree, remove the bottom drain and put a nipple or hose adapter on. those round plastic type of drains plug quickly, even the brass compression style.Bob "hot rod" Rohr
