Hi,
Does anyone know the proper method to figure out how many btus that you can get out of a hot water coil. I have a steam boiler with a coil that is being used for a baseboard hotwater loop. I want to add more baseboard and would like to know how to figure out the max btus that i can get out of the coil
Thanks

Hi. could you explain how you arrive at that number. 80k is a lot there are complete cast iron boilers in the 38-70k range. Another question- assuming your numbers are correct,
if the oil nozzle is a 1.25 nozzle and the steam load is say 140 btu out, if I pipe 80k baseboard on that coil will I have less btu available for my steam rads?
Thanks

Prioritize and use an aquastat for the baseboards. Run either, or, not both at once.0
