baseray baseboard

Doing some work for a customer that has baseray in two rooms that i will unhook and move. My question why did the dead men hook up the upper and lower tappings at the inside corners and also were it would pass through walls. I know it is just a loop for this section. This job was done in the mid 60.s Customer remembers when his father had it installed.

So that they could bleed it from the end without having to bleed each individual piece of baseboard.
