Steam Radiator Placement

How far off a finished wall should I place my steam radiator? As of now I have it placed 3 1/2'' of the finished wall, but my wife wanted it closer, so I was able to get it about a 1/2'' off the wall. I feel that is to close to the wall. Is there a standard placement away from a wall?

The usual distance was 2" off the finished wall. If you're that close, you might want to put an insulating board on the wall while leaving a small air space between the wall and the radiator. All Steamed Up, Inc.

All of mine have the legs touching the shoe molding. If I had to guess, I'd say they're about an inch maybe 1.5" tops off of the wall.
