    I saw on sitting on the floor at a local supply house.
    Very neat product.
    This is a loophole in the new residential water heater stds in that is a commercial WH not a home version.
    Elements are special but never the less its a good product.

    What's the new law concerning heat pump w'h/s, isn't it anything over a certain size that is residential must be heat pump?

    I believe because this HTP 80 gallon Electric is rated sold as a light commercial water heater that is how it can be bought and installed in residential jobs.

    Not to get off topic but I believe the appliance industry circumvented the code in a similar fashion. Commercial SS kitchen equipment wasn't permitted for Res work by code and required a lot of mechanical vented that would ruin the home aesthetics so a 'Professional' kitchen line was invented. Essentially commercial product re-branded and packaged for the home.
