Mixing Radiator Types by Zone

Hi, I have an old house with a mix of of iron radiators (mostly cast iron baseboard) on a one zone pumped water system done with black pipe. I'm doing an addition/remodel, and will probably be adding zones. Can the new zones be low mass radiators? Is this a good idea?
My current boiler is an oversized Weil Mclain non-condensing installed in 1994. I plan to add an indirect tank if replacing the boiler.
Thanks in advance. I've read this forum for years and have been educated. I finally registered to ask a question.
