Hi,
I live in Israel where we have electric and solar boilers. Being that electric bills are quite expensive every boiler has an on and off switch and the water takes around 30 minutes to an hour to heat up. Does any country have similar systems in place?

We are starting to see Dhw systems that have a DC element connected directly to a PV module or array. The upper element is a regular 240V AC element. A controller can keep the AC element off until sunset to prioritize solar.karya said:Hi,

We also use 240 timers on solar tanks that are thermal solar with electric backup element up top, for the same reason.
