Cutting pex-a?

Is there a special tool required for cutting pex-a or can a DIYer such as my self use something I have on hand, like a hacksaw?

If a proper tool is required I'll buy one, but I'd rather not for the few connections I'm going to make.

Shears. Either rachet style or basic works fine.

Is the Ridgid 23493 acceptable?

I'm only asking because I can get that via Amazon Prime but not the Milwaukee. Their prices are very close, shipping cost \ time aside.

My dad wants recirculating hot water and his system is all pex-a.
I'm giving him what he wants. He deserves it.

Actually almost any plastic could be heat welded. I have seen that equipment before. That would be interesting to see on pex....not that there is a good reason to "weld" it. lol
