So, I have a Rinnai R75 that has been in and working for just 2 weeks short of 5 years. It stopped working water flow is good but no flame no fan. (maintenance/flushing has always been done) I am an electrician and have good test equipment. First thing I did was open the front and tap on the ignitor, it then started working and worked a day. It has now stopped working again. Any reason to this this is not the ignitor? Thanks for any replies/help.

I'd suggest replacing the ignitor and flame rod. lMake sure you get the gasket to back them up. Prior to doing so however put your dmm in series with the flame rod and read micro amps. Rinnai's drop out below 1 microamp. They should be, in a clean condition in the 5-7 range. You can try simply cleaning the rod. Use a dollar bill, replace and see how it goes. Do the first test prior to removing and compare the results.0
