Gas usage normal?

I went to pay my gas bill this month (march) and noticed quite a jump in price and then when I looked into why, it says I used 81 Therms.
In previous months (Jan and Feb) I used 5 and 8 respectively.
What can cause such a significant jump like that? I don't think anything has changed in how I've been heating my apartment. Is it possible that the company read the meter wrong?

    Perhaps the previus months were aproximate. Call the utility.

    Five and eight would be ridiculously low. It is 500 and 800,000 btus.

    What were the bills like last year?
    How many rooms?
    Free standing house or large apartment building?
