I am replacing a Cadet listed thermostat 5c86 model C2002 240VAC and 22A res for a room in wall heater. The old thermostat has 3 wires: A blue wire LN1, a black wire LN2, and a red wire LD2. These wires were attached to the thermostat's circuit board.
What do I connect to what in new honeywell's 4 wire thermostat?
What do I connect to what in new honeywell's 2 wire thermostat?
I want to consider 2 and 4 wire options.
Thank you.

Single-Pole 10.4 Amp 120/240 Volt Digital

I am doing the same thing today march 18. I called the number on the manual and was told the th401 is not a compatible replacement for the Cadet c2002 due to the difference in amps. She Recommended the t4398 and t498a. Both are two wire thermostats. She did not have a solution for your basic question of going from three to two wires. I'm going to look for a three wire replacement.0
