Fill-Trol and Watts B911S-M3 Hot Water Boiler Fill on same system. Is that normal?

My gas hydronic boiler has a pressure reducing boiler fill valve and it also has an Amtrol Fill-Troll (combination expansion tank and automatic, pressure-reducing fill valve). Is this necessary or can I eliminate the fill-troll valve since I have a Watts boiler fill valve/pressure reducer? (of course I would keep the expansion tank)

The reason I am asking is that it appears that the actual valve for the fill-troll is either sticking shut or broken and it is not allowing water into the system. I would just replace the amtrol-fill troll valve but I can't find one because the one on my boiler is oriented to allow the amtrol fill-troll expansion tank to install horizontally. The only ones I have seen on the internet are for a vertical installation and that would not work with my current system due to piping and space. Thanks to anyone that can help with this question.

Remove the whole fill trol assembly. ....install new expansion tank, you must check the new expansion tank with a tire pressure gauge it should be at 12 psi....if your system fill pressure requires more pressure you must pump it up with a bicycle pump..

Thanks for the response Paul. Is there a reason I can't use the existing expansion tank without the fill troll valve?
