Sound of boiler working in bedrooms 2 floors up

We just had our steam boiler replaced and have a single pipe steam system. All radiators are heating well. The boiler is in the basement and there is no noise. There is no noise in the first floor - kitchen, living room, dining room area. However, when the boiler is working it sounds like you can hear the boiler operating in the floor beneath the bedroom radiator on the second floor. Our contractor said do nothing as we don't see any signs of moisture or water. Should we open up the floor and check the pipe? The noise can be very disturbing.

Similar to the sound of a huge percolator0

Try putting 4 quarters under the valve end feet of the radiator, and 5 quarters under the vent end.
This elevation may correct a lack of slope in the horizontal pipe under the floor. More quarters may be needed to get the right pitch.--NBC0 -
Was the boiler properly skimmed?0
