I press the reset button and I just get a click burner doesn't try to fire. I've cleaned the cad cell lens and made sure the pump and motor spins freely

There's nothing wrong with the eye. If you pushed the reset and the motor didn't start to turn, it could be anything from thermostat and/or thermostat wire, a dead spot in the motor, bad primary. If you have mechanical draft there could be a problem there.
The bottom line is 2 things:
1. Please don't push the reset button, it has never in the history of oil burners fixed the problem that caused the burner to lock out on safety, and could quickly make thing dangerously worse.
2. Please call a qualified tech to properly and safely diagnose your burner. There was an error rendering this rich post.
